Need an advertiser competition analysis for the CPC.  If a keyword is getting $3/click, but not very many advertisers are targeting, I'll be lucky to get ads that are relevant.

I guess you missed that in the video? It's on the Analysis page.

This looks interesting.  What will the price point be?

Jon,

I love your new product, especially the niche discovery tool.  :)

Just one thought, though. The analyze SERP Competition Data could sometimes be misconstrued.
If you happen to have one of the major websites mixed into that data, such as: amazon dot com or wikipedia dot org for example, that could give you the wrong impression. Even though these sites have a high page rank and a ton of back-links, they are fairly easy to get ahead of in Google. As long as people research further to see which sites are ranking on page one, this will not be a problem. I think the main thing would be to use the niche discovery tool in conjunction with the analyze SERP Competition Data, before you make your final analysis.

looks really useful, but what will the price be?  Please do not make it a monthly subscription:(  instead make it one time payment or a yearly subscription:)

I'll agree with some of the suggestions here. The one I haven't seen mentioned is the highlighting for authority sites. It's a nice feature but too light so it's easy to miss from what I saw in the video. Looked like if was off-white. I would suggest a more contrasting color.

On the items previously suggested, I would second the following:

1. ability to export to Excel
2. ability to do match type. Not certain what the product uses now.
3. ability to see related terms

You're probably at the state where you've got a minimum feature set to launch and test viability so I know adding to the list would delay launch for you. The reason I think the above 3 items are important is because it makes the results more relevant and actionable.

Item 3 is important because it seems that the current software has 2 modes. The first is for the user who has an idea, but it's really a laser approach as we're limited to 1 keyword. So often, my first guess is not where I attack but gives me ideas. With the program now, I would have to use another tool to get the fringe/related terms and repeat the process.

I don't see myself using the niche finder part per se. It seems like it's for people that build sites around keywords. That's fine, just not me.

What about showing say easy to rank for "long tail" keywords for an existing or possible future niche?

For instance, if I have a web site that sells soccer gear, I want to find a bunch of long tail keywords that are easy to rank for that niche.

Is that possible to incorporate?

Really good tool Jon! I would take a look at SerpIQ, if you haven't already, to see what they are doing as it's a similar tool which I currently use. I would really like to see an average word count for the pages in the serps and also echo everyone's opinion that it should be a yearly fee instead of a monthly.

Looks great Jon.

I'm like a couple of other posters in that I would love to know a little more about what goes in to your difficulty ranking if you don't mind sharing.

I cross checked a few keywords that came up as easy to rank for in your video with the difficulty level found in Brad Callen's Niche Finder. Where they came up easy on your tool, most came up moderate, and some came up very difficult on his tool.

Keyword Canine of course would be a fantastic upgrade with the Niche Discovery tool. And that alone would make it worth the purchase. But a few more details on how the difficulty is determined would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, lots of great feedback. I'll respond to a few things here:

1. Niche Keyword Exposure: On the niche finder page, only the newest 100 keywords that KC has found are displayed. This means that the only people who are viewing that list are you and the others who are logged in at that point in time. So everytime you refresh that page, you will likely see more keywords. If you come back later you will see new keywords. This keeps the new keyword list fresh at all times, so no worries of over exposure.

2. @benyost: First, I sold HNS and unfortunately the new owner is not being very cooperative with me or customers :( So it seems that HNS is "dead." Second, this is a totally different tool than HNS. HNS was a "milti tool" which did have a keyword tool within, but it simply pulled from the adwords API... not anything like KC, which has it's own keyword database and pulls much more valuable data.

3. Pricing: You will not be forced to pay a monthly subscription :)

4. Competition Strength Indicator: We have a very unique algorithm in place, that looks at several different things to determine the strength. The output of each data point is assigned a number and those numbers are added up and entered into our 100 point scale to determine the strength of competition.

Very exciting!  Please add me to the list of people requesting UK database.

A question, pls, about the Niche Discovery tool, apologies if I missed the answer already. Will the discovered niches be updated? To take an extreme example, suppose "everyone" suddenly targets "greensheet houston", it will no longer be "easy". At what point will Niche Discovery reflect this?

A suggestion too, pls.  Output option to a .txt file - and to send the output in "title case format". As a beginner I'm assuming that format doesn't actually matter (pls correct if I am wrong) but I feed my keywords into something else and always think it looks tidier.

Also a plea for affordable fee. I do IM part-time so haven't yet had time to fully capitalise on the two excellent JL tools I bought very recently. I do hope to be able to add this one to my repertoire :-)

Looking forward to hearing more.

Hi Jon,

Another great idea!
***Do you need beta-testers!?***  ;)

Suggested features -
  • related keywords - with perhaps a synopsis of their quality - and sorted by usability
(to keep from having to dig through multiple searches as most tools require)
  • an indication of which verticals (e.g.- videos, images, etc...) are showing up on page 1

Questions -
  • Doesn't local really mean national, not local as in New York City?
  • What do the API and Reports tabs reveal?

Thanks

Jonathan,

This is brilliant and something that I'm sure will be another winner product. One great added feature would be the ability to find articles based on the niches /keywords we are targeting. Perhaps integration of AB and TBS as well. It will make this software complete.

Looks good.

May I add my name to the list wanting a UK database - and also - when that is selected, a check for exact match .co.uk domains would be very useful.
