So, is TBS is an abandoned product now?
« on: February 07, 2019, 06:45:13 PM »
I've used TBS for years, but it now seems to have been relegated to the abandoned s/ware bin. There's been no updates in years, no fix for the weird characters, no new features etc.
Anyone recommend a decent, regularly updated spinner?

TBS is not abandoned. It works fine. The "weird fonts" appears occasionally but it's usually something individual on someone's computer and it can be fixed. I have not seen ANY recommendations for any spinners that beat TBS, people are always moaning about other spinners.

The symbol fonts issue is annoying, I know, but the workaround takes a couple of seconds and once done it "sticks" for your entire session until you logout.

Meg is actually quite right. The Best Spinner is still, despite its age, one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful spinner out there.

Yes, there are a couple of niggling things but they are easily worked around. Since the quality of the output is what counts, if there is a better spinner out there I for one would be interested in seeing it. A pretty interface for a spinner isn't seen by Google when they spider your site and look at your articles :)

So basically it's not being updated to fix "those niggling issues". Hence I'd say that's abandoned.

Abandoned software has no help from a help desk. Helpdesk provided help, for a small TBS problem, that gave a work around. Therefore it is not abandoned. The software is probably the best spinner you can get, I have not seen anyone claim any other software even to be as good, let alone better. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, is an excellent maxim.
