Site To Be Used For Adsense Question?
« on: March 23, 2010, 10:49:21 AM »
I have about 10 domain names that purchased within the same genre. They all have good traffic stats with low competition.
If I build a web site for this, can I have all the domains go to the one site. Without having any penalty from google.
Also can I use wordpress without penalty.
To many questions...
Thanks

I moved your post because it belonged in the SEO forum, not Internet Marketing methods.

If you're talking about redirecting traffic from those 10 domains to another site, Google won't penalize you for that, but you risk losing your rankings completely.  The reason is that although Google SHOULD redirect all links to those domains to the destination domain, it doesn't do it perfectly AND you'll lose any benefit you're getting from the domain name containing the keywords.

The bottom line is: I wouldn't recommend it unless you really know what you're doing.

I wholeheartedly agree with skilmore.  It would take you a day each ( tops) with WordPress to create 10 sites.  Give each one a different slant and optimize each of them and build pages and links like your pants are on fire. It will take you some time, but I think you have 10 times the chances of hitting with something big on them, then if you just redirect to one central site. One site is like one basket of eggs. Drop it and you are out of business.

Best of luck-

If you are talking about using the "FREE" wordpress, (wordpress.org),  blog than you can not use them for advertising anything. Also, using BlogSpot, owned by Google, can be hazardous to your marketing.

Google closed down two of my "BlogSpot" blogs because they thought they were spammy; I no longer use Google's blogs.

I think you may have it backward. Wordpress.org is open source, free and no restrictions on advertising. I have all my income producing sites in WP.org. On the other hand, WordPress.com has restrictions on advertising and is generally used for those who wish to write and informative blog or post to their own, not for profit site.

The question begging to be asked is "were they spammy?". I've been with blogger for years without a single problem and one might see my blog as "spammy" if they didn't understand the material and relied totally on some bug reporting back to them.

In the past I had blogs shut down for being "spammy", but in hindsight.. they were! Blogger is extremely easy to use and so far (knock on wood) very reliable.  8)
