Last night, I went through the Wikipedia domains, to look very closely at the high trust ones. Yes, many cannot be used by me because they are names of pop groups or trademarks. But I found one that intrigued me. It was about a dead person. I have a website already in existence that an article on that person could be added to. I have commissioned an article and will direct that domain straight to that article. That will instantly provide trust, referring domains and backlinks. I bought another domain the other day and started a new website. The backlinks immediately showed up for that site, even though it wasn't even indexed in Google or by the seo engines.

TubeSnooper / Backlinks
« on: June 08, 2018, 01:17:19 AM »
I have purchased a domain name with 7 backlinks. I put it into KeywordTitan and it shows the backlinks linking to the site. The links show the url of the page they linked to, eg, www.mynewdomain.com/encycl/cats/page123.html and the text that forms the anchor, eg funny cats. Is it important for me to recreate those pages? Will the backlinks disappear otherwise?

Also, the link page urls all end in .html. I have created the site on wordpress. I am able to create .html pages but is it possible to get those on a WP site?

I have been enjoying looking through the lists of expired domain names on the Wikipedia and Youtube lists. Some of those names you would not find through a search for keyword terms, yet some have very high trust factors and lots of backlinks from a number of different domains. I found one available to buy at the usual price of about $10, yet it had been advertised for sale some years previously at nearly $3000. Another one (which I bought because I couldn't resist the quirky name) also had a high trust factor and good backlinks and you would wonder why anyone let them go. This is a great tool. Thanks very much.

Those voices are great but I think the new Matthewvoice is very good. Improved voices would be fantastic.

I read the article but what do you see as the use of it with IVW? The videos are for giving information, like going to the cinema. Duplex is for interaction, like giving information in response to a question or for asking for information. How would you see it being used?

The "i" button om my IVW slicer page doesn't mention anything about the slicer, it's just a general intro to IVW. I checked it before trying anything else.

I have spent some time playing around with uploading a voiceover today. I had one (well 4 actually but the other 3 name particular companies, so not really suitable) that retold part of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. It was an MP3.

I uploaded it to the slicer but could not get any break points to match the natural breaks in the story, although I thought I remembered seeing this done some months ago.

I ended up using 2 methods and doing two different videos, one for Facebook (square) and one for youtube (landscape). Both have been uploaded to Youtube and you can see which you prefer.

Method 1
I used Audacity, which is a free audio editing program (You will probably need the free LAME codec downloaded too). The MP3 that I had, had 4 separate areas relating to the story, so I used Audacity found the spot where the speaker took a breath (audio file is very low) and made a mark, then deleted the unwanted parts and saved 4 separate MP3 files name RRH1, RRH2, etc. I used the ordinary part of IVW to create 6 slides (Title + 4 story slides + call to action), uploaded some photos I found on the public domain, then used my voice for the title and call to action and uploaded the separate MP3s for the story slides.

Method 2
The MP3 I had was a story. I uploaded it and made 4 random marks on the slicer and let IVW create 4 slides. I added a title and left it silent, then added some Public Domain photos to the slides.

I thought the story might look or sound choppy, with the audio being split or with the slices being not in the right place. But listen and watch for yourself. I don't think there is much to choose between the 2 videos. The second, using the slicer was a LOT faster and the changes in the story are not quite aligned with the pictures. But with the transitions, I don't think it matters. See for yourself.

It is probably a bug on the server. It has happened to me before. Once cleared, everything will work again.

I know I saw it demonstrated quickly somewhere but I took a quick look on the help tab in IVW and don't see anything I could point you to there, sorry.

In Win 7, you can do a search using the start button, I don't know whether it's the same in Win 10. For any text file, I would type in *.txt DO NOT press the return key or use the mouse. Using the * tells the search function to seach for anything. Using *.txt tells it to seach for any file ending in .txt You can also use it for partial seaches, so thes*.txt tells it to seach for any file starting with thes and having any character after that and ending in .txt
