Country Specific Websites

Hi JL.

I have ordered one website so far just to test the water.

I notice that the hosting server is in Los Angeles, United States.

I am based in the UK and only concerned with the UK market for the products/services I am interested in.

Also, I would prefer .co.uk extensions (cheap to buy)  as this makes the site look more relevant.

With Google being all about 'local' relevance for the searcher, I am wondering how good the results will be for UK search when the website appears to be American?

Clearly, .co.uk domains and UK hosting servers would 'suite' Google better?

What do you guys think?

You can transfer the site to any host, in any part of the world, you like. Our servers are U.S. based though, yes. However, I haven't see any case studies that would suggest that a site targeting the U.K. can't rank just as well as the next, just because the server is located in another country.

Regarding .co.uk domains, when you ordered you had the option of using your own domain. You can use your own domain, or one that we register for you, which are .com, .net or .org TLD's.
