Bug Report

When I click on the - symbol to minimize the application, the software symbol disappears fron the task bar at the bottom of the screen.  I have to bring up task manager and double click on the application name to bring the application back on screen.

Or I can click on the show hidden icons symbol and then click on the application symbol to bring it back.

Thanks for the feedback, but that's not a bug. :) It's designed to be a "set and forget" app. If you look, it is still in the system tray. Although I haven't checked that on all operating systems, so I suppose it could be. What operating system are you using?

Most set and forget apps I use leave the application icon in the bottom task bar while it is working.  This allows you to click on its icon at anytime to bring it to the top screen.  I was able to find it and restore it but I had to spend some time searching for it.

I believe it would be better to have the app icon in the task bar while it is working in the background but I may be in the majority.

So far it works great but it is very slow.  I am only tracking 10 domains with it.  I would hate to be tracking all my domains as it would probably be a 24 hour job.  :)

So far the biggest drawback for me is the 100 position limitation.  I need to know if domains are ranked anywhere in the top 1000.  I understand you plan to change this but it would be a deal breaker for me if it could not check the top 1000 positions.

I downloaded the AT software but so far results have been poor !
I loaded about 30 keywords and set them up for UK tracking as that
is my target market . Yet the results return N/A on all my uploaded
keywords inclusive of my main keyword which i know is ranked 1 on
page 1 ?

Therefore, Accurank so far has not impressed with it's Accuracy of reporting !

Where are you located? If you're not in the UK, then it's impossible for you to see the true ranking in the UK unless you're checking using a proxy located in the UK. If you'd like me to look into this just send the URL's and keywords to along with the country you reside in and I'll look into it.

Hi Josh i'll drop you an email as requested but i can confirm i am UK based
so that doesn't answer the problem on that front !

It is something we'll be adding. It goes to the system tray through... it takes about 1 second to open that. It's on the list, just not a top priority at this point.

Did you watch the training/tutorial videos? If you're only tracking 10 domains then you can safely decrease the delay time in the settings to make it much faster.

This one one we will be implementing soon. It's toward the top of the list, but not at the very top. We still have a handful of bugs to work out, then we'll be doing this.

Thanks for the feedback. :) It helps us get better.

ok we'll look into this. We haven't had any similar reports from the UK, but bugs are always a possibility this early, so we'll definitely look into it. I'll check for your email and respond.

Just to confirm what Doug has reported. I too, live in the UK and am checking keywords in the UK. I get the same error; keywords that are ranking are showing as n/a.

I first noticed the problem 2 days ago (12/1/2013) when AT showed a  positive change in ranking, but the position was n/a when it was about 36 before. Now it is n/a with no change, but a search of Google shows it still at 36.

Other UK keywords are the same but the US ones are fine.

I believe this bug has been resolved. Open up AccurankTracker (close it first if it's running) and you should be notified of a new version. If not, close it once more and open again.

have no idea what was wrong with mine. After download, installed, and then clicked the "Accurank Tracker" to run, nothing happen. the software not launch. Was there any step I miss??

Do you have antivirus software on your system? Did you disable during install? What operating system are you using? After you click the AccurankTracker icon from your desktop, it just does nothing at all?

thanks Josh, it works now.
Another question though, do I'll need to have a proxy account to run AccurankTracker? or my 'normal' internet connection will be fine?
thank

It doesn't seem to be working for google in the UK

I get N/A but the keyword phrase I checked is at number 8 in google.co.uk
and at number 6 when checked in quotes. Not sure how it checks.

I'm based in the UK

Proxies are not required, no. The only time you'll want to use a proxy (and it's still not required) is if you want to check the ranking of a keyword/url from a country that you are not currently residing in. For example, if you're in the U.S. and you target the Germany market with a website. Then it would be good to know EXACTLY how your site/keyword rank IN Germany instead of how they rank in the U.S. If you don't use a proxy from that location the rankings may be a little off. If you do use a proxy they will be the same as if someone in that country checked the ranking.

Hi Josh,

I just downloaded the latest version (2.0.0.52) and tested it on only 1 keyword, as it's late here in the UK, and AT worked fine.

I will test it for all the keywords tomorrow and report back if there's a problem.

Thanks for the new version and resolving this so quickly,
Nigel

hi Josh

A couple of points

When the report is printed it would be nice to print
the country the test was performed on

At the moment all you get is

http://www.anydomain.com
Keyword: any keyword
Report created: 15/01/2013 11:46:20
Ranking data based on top 100 search results

It would be nice to see

http://www.anydomain.com
Keyword: any keyword
Country: USA
Report created: 15/01/2013 11:46:20
Ranking data based on top 100 search results

Also would it be possible to export into pdf the
selected keywords instead of just one line.
If doing a 10 keyword search for a client I don't
really want to create 10 pdf files.
I would rather highlight 10 lines and create one pdf file with 10 pages.

Just my feedback

Yep, history and reports will both be drastically improved over the next month. :) There are several things that will be done better with those. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Josh,

I have imported over 200 keyowrds spread across a bunch of my squidoo lenses (squidoo is a great way to make case these days :-) ), and run them, and everthing has worked just fine, I have done a spot check for about 20 of those keywords to see if the rankings match up with a google search, and all looks good.

No problems to report!

Nice software, I really like it. It is straight forward and really is accurate.

Did you read my response?  :)  I stated that if I was tracking all my domains it would take 24 hours.  Yes, I could decrease the delay time for 10 domains and speed it up for a small number of domains.  But I could not decrease the delay time to speed it up if I was tracking 350 domains.

So the current settings give an indication of how long it would take for larger numbers of domains.

I intend to buy it if the price is low as stated.  I already own various tracking software, including one that is a plug in but I would get this one as it is faster to set up and use than what I currently own.
