Any tutorial re settings etc?
« on: July 29, 2013, 06:40:15 PM »
Hi, Just purchased and trying to find a tutorial. I don't have much bandwidth so can't waste any time doing it wrong.
Thanks!

Are you talking about the web based or the desktop version?

There's no need for a tutorial. Just enter your base keywords, click "get suggestions" and let it run until you feel like you've got enough keywords to work with. Then download them and use them as you will. :)

Not having much luck with this forum so far, it may be coincidence but my browser just crashed while making post, also the register interface is not too good - when I refreshed the Captcha image, it lost all info entered and went back a page.

I think some kind of basic tutorial info would be nice, but if there isn't any on offer I guess we'll figure out things like what the counters are counting for ourselves  eventually ::)

Capcha image? I have never seen a capcha image for checking out this forum. Maybe it was for registering on the forum? There have been an awful lot of spammers recently!  >:( I suppose the forum managers are trying to screen them out. I have found that with ALL capchas - that if you refresh - you lose all info - very annoying, I know!

Jon has posted on this above http://prosperative.com/public-forum/keyword-snatcher-2-0/any-tutorial-re-settings-etc/msg62726/#msg62726 and that is all I do - enter a keyword and click on "get suggestions". The "numbers checked" refers to KS2 going back over the suggestions to get another round of further suggestions for the list. The captcha problem was when registering, which I had to do so that I could post :-) I find most captchas now don't lose info, they just refresh the captcha image, so that is why it surprised me.

I read Jon's post above mine, in case you think I don't bother to read things - I know some people don't  :)

I feel his reply was a bit unhelpful really, how long would it take someone to write up the basics of using this software, maybe an hour or so, and it would save multiple hours of others figuring out what is what and having to post questions here. I don't want to search around the forum for every answer . . . thanks for pointing me in the right direction on the one regarding what the counters are doing.

The next thing I have to do is find out what happens to the csv or text files when I click 'Download Suggestions' at the moment nothing appears (my browser settings are to the desktop, which always works fine for other downloads).

I use Chrome and the files are shown as downloads for me at the bottom of the browser. They are probably saved automatically to whatever file your normal downloads go to. Did they not appear on your desktop? They will be saved by the title of the keyword you entered, so if you used the keywords Vuitton handbags, then you will have a text file or CSV file called Vuitton_handbags.txt or .csv

I have put a FAQ at the top of the forum and will add any more helpful info there.

The video on the homepage shows what to
do and it's only 5 minutes 15 seconds long

keywordsnatcher.com

Hoping this helps

Thanks, Meg and Eliot.

I'll try another browser, it may be that Keyword Snatcher doesn't like Safari, as it definitely isn't downloading.

I watched the vid before buying, useful, but doesn't answer the questions I had.

As far as I am aware KSW downloads to your download folder by default. At least that's where mine downloads

The text or csv file is saved as the keyword used (keyword.txt or keyword.csv).

Hoping this helps
