What Pixel size should my images be to upload
« on: January 16, 2018, 02:33:09 PM »

Thanks in advance.

When I upload my own images to substitute for pre-selected ones,  I am just seeing a small fraction of the center of the image. I have sized to as small 150 px and it still does not show the whole image. My last video would not upload to Youtube saying media size was too  big - 16 slides, images only no special effects. What size are the images in the search library?

What am I missing? If I cannot use my own images this tool is useless and not for me.

1280x720 for landscape (16:9) videos

720x720 for square videos

820x460 for Facebook header videos

So Jon are you saying the larger the image the more it will come into focus on the slide? That doesn't seem to be happening for me.

No, those are the precise sizes of the slides by video type. Even if your image is large, if it's not the correct ration of width to length IVW has to crop it as best as it can to make it fit the slide.

Okay...so that is what I'm trying to figure out is how to get my own images to fit into IVW and not look so blown and blurry.

Is it possible for you to do a quick video to show us how to accomplish?

Thank you!

You just need to use an image editor to crop the image to the right width / height ratio so it looks the way you want it.

For instance, if your original image is 1800x900 pixels and you want to add it to a landscape video, which uses 1280x720 pixel images, you're going to have to load that image into a photo editor and use the crop tool to select a 1280x720 section of the image out. Save that image and upload it into IVW.

Thank you, I was focusing on sizes not ratios - got it.
