The placeholder is put there by Youtube, rather like an advert for a film.

I'm going to list my current process.  I was hoping that IVW would be able to replace it, but I'm not sure now.

1) I schedule a live event with no video included yet.  Youtube automatically creates a placeholder for that event, and sometimes that placeholder will rank.
2) If it ranks, I find a business that wants their existing video on the 1st page of Google.
3) I show them the placeholder that's ranking and let them know that I can replace that placeholder with their existing video and instantly get them on the 1st page.
4) If they close, I then use Wirecast to edit the live event so that the client's video will be added to the event and streamed on the scheduled date.

Wirecast is clunky, so that's why I bought IVW, hoping it would make things easier.

Can I use IVW to replicate my current process?

IVW will do what you're wanting yes.

1. Create a placeholder video (just a one slide video that you set to be 10 seconds long).

2. Render that video and click 'Upload to YouTube' and choose the Live Event Scheduler (calendar icon) to schedule the event.

3. If it ranks, approach whoever you want to see if they're interested in their video being ranked. If they say yes, go to YouTube and delete the live event.

4. Upload the client's video to the IVW video by uploading it to the first slide and render the video.

5. Then re-create the live event from the Upload To YouTube button as before. The client's video will automatically be streamed to the Live Event at the specified date/time.

Super simple.

The number of channels IVW can manage is unlimited. Even if you run into a YouTube channel limitation, you can always create another YouTube account with a different email address and create more channels there -- then add those channels into IVW.

jon

can you please clarify this when you say you create another youtube account and create more channels

dont you have to revoke access to the first channel before you can add a new YouTube account

how can you manage separate multiple youtube accounts..

so my question. if I have 5 separate YouTube accounts with different emails. how does IVW manage this per our comment above.

this is confusing. thank you

IVW can manage channels from as many accounts as you want. Many people manage their clients' channels for them, and IVW is setup to handle this.

You just login to YouTube using the account that has the channel you want to register before you register it in IVW. Once it's registered IVW has permission to post to that channel whether you're logged into it or not until you decide to revoke that access.

I kinda hate the idea of deleting the live event placeholder that's already ranking.  I'll have to wait until that ranking is removed from the index, then create another event and hope that Google will not be unpredictable and rank the 2nd event just like it ranked the 1st event.

If you find a keyword that ranks, why not do a test run with a similar video, before talking to a client?

Meg, I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting.

I'm just suggesting a test run with something that's not as important to you.
