Microphone has gone dumb
« on: March 24, 2019, 09:40:59 AM »
I seem to have created a problem while I was recording a voiceover and accidentally clicked to the next slide during the recording. I didn't think anything of it at the time but now find that I seem to have completely disabled my microphone (Yeti) and no longer able to record any tracks for any of my projects.
Any help gratefully received. JM

Have you contacted help desk http://support.prosperative.com/ and submitted a ticket? They don't always work at weekends, so until they open, if it were me I would try (a), checking my microphone to see whether it is still set to recording for IVW, (b) if that didn't solve it, I would log out of IVW and log back in to see if that solved it and if not, (c) I would try using one of the automatic voices to see if that is working and if so, THEN try recording with my own voice.

I take it you have checked to see that your microphone is still working? EG try it with something else or even try a new test video?

Hi Meg,
Thank you for your suggestions. I have tried all of these including. rebooting, computer and IVW and the successful use of auto voice-over and recording with audacity. I also think you are so clever for one who looks so young. (lol)

LOL, I daren't show my current photo!  ;D  8) I see you checked your microphone with audacity. No possibility of recording it on there, then adding your recording into IVW until helpdesk gets back to you?

Hi Meg,

Yes I could try that but unfortunately, it would not solve the ongoing problem so I am just going to wait in the meantime.

Hi Jack,

I think what you'll need to do is (if you're using Chrome) go into SETTINGS then ADVANCED, then CONTENT SETTINGS and delete the setting for Instant Video Wizard.

When you next login to Instant Video Wizard (you may need to clear your browser cache) and try to record audio it should ask for your permission.

If you use Firefox it's the same principle.
