Just discovered this drawback to using LiveStream videos...

It seems that you can't embed recorded Livestream videos the same way you do normal YouTube videos.

Unless you connect an Adsense account. And enable ad monetization. From what I've been reading.

Not planning to enable ads on my videos. Because the focus is on list building, so...

I think that's a huge drawback for videos you want to rank.

Considering how Google counts the number of embeds as a ranking factor.

Less embeds also means less traffic.

So... will be sticking to normal videos for now.

Seems like there's a lot of caveats to using YouTube's livestream feature.

I download the video I make to my computer and upload to my sites as normal. I ALSO put the same video into livestream on youtube.

I see. So you can upload the same video twice? Once as normal, and once as livestream?

Won't you get a duplicate content penalty with that in Google? Or annoy your subscribers?

The site upload is on a different site from the one I am advertising in the video. While my youtube subscribers will see the live stream, only people who find the other website will have the opportunity to see the embedded video. I also embed other people's videos on my sites and that seems to be encouraged, to give a wider exposure.

While there's no "Embed" button for streamed videos, embedding them still works just fine. Just use this URL, replacing [YouTubeID] with the ID of the YouTube video:

Quote
https://www.youtube.com/embed/[YouTubeID]

For example, if this is your video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RIUzOoMaNg

The [YouTubeID] would be:

Quote
_RIUzOoMaNg

I tried it and it works just fine.

I tried it. And when hitting play on the embedded video, it says I do not have permission to view this video unfortunately...

Has it run yet? I mean, is it past the time it is scheduled to run in the livestream?

Yeah, I was trying it with the recording.

But that's ok. I'll just use standard videos for now.

Less variables for me to deal with.
