"Edit Slide Text" box
« on: January 24, 2018, 07:44:14 AM »
Jon,
In the new version the default "Edit Slide Text" box (where you write the text of a slide) the text is now white on black background. This makes it less comfortable on the eyes, especially when you choose a dark color for the text. Is it possible to make it black text on white background as before?
Thanks.

You can change it in the edit.

No, it needs to be a dark background. The reason is that the default color of the text is white. Prior to 2.0 it was showing black text in the box even though the text on the slide was white. In order to have the text color in the edit box match the text color on the slide the background of the text box has to be dark. If it was white then the default white text color would be invisible.

For me it was much much more user friendly before, I wonder what other users think. It was easier for me to deal with  the fact the default text shows black instead of white, as I almost always use another color than white so it does not matter. But now all the text boxes backgrounds of the multiple slides are black. I think most of us use darker colors like red or blue or black or purple, that are almost invisible on the black background, hard on the eyes.
Anyway, it's your call.

I'll see if there's something I can do about having the background change colors for dark text or something. I'll give it some thought.

Another option: using a very light brown as background so the white will show a little and still it will be light enough to show the other colors without being hard on the eyes?

FYI, I have a solution coming in the next update (probably tomorrow). It's a checkbox that toggles the text editor between a light and dark background. That way you can modify the background based on the colors you're using for that specific video or slide.
