trying to add a new blog
« on: January 12, 2011, 10:01:14 PM »
Ok, I read the troubleshooting sticky and went through all the procedures listed therein.  I'm now updated to .NET 4 and read that works for IAW3.  I also triple-checked that xmlrpc is enabled on the blog I'm trying to add, as well as checked that the login credentials are correct.  So I'm confuzled over why I'm still not able to add a new blog and continue to get the error below.  What am I missing?

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Hmmm. Seems as if your blog doesn't have xmlrpc in the normal location (or at all).

I've had a ghostwriter post content to my blog in the past - isn't having xmlrpc required to be able to do that?

I figured I could at least make use of the built-in copyscape feature, but found that returns an unhandled exception error too (parameter name: length).

When I click "Save" after using the Generate Random Article From Selected Topics tool, my article tab is still blank - nothing is saved to it.  Seems like more is wrong here than just my blog not having xmlrpc.  Maybe my PC just isn't compatible with the program.

For your unhandled exception w/Copyscape please ensure you don't have a semicolon in your article ;.  A semicolon in the article will throw back the error you've encountered.  I discovered that the hard way for another user last week.

For your other issues I will be replying to your ticket you've submitted at askjonleger.com

When the Random Article Generator option pops up for you please ensure you 'lock' the specific text you want.  When you lock text the text will turn to blue.  If you don't have any text locked and then you click save your article tab will be blank as you've seen.
