Peanut Butter
« on: March 30, 2013, 12:34:43 AM »
A little light information...

Hope everyone on the forum knows that a teaspoon full of peanut butter will cure the hiccups every-time~

Fixing to take a spoonful myself!  ;)  ::)

I think I will NEVER get hiccups, then. I love peanut butter and eat a good bit of it every day!

I get them, but I promise the peanut butter stops them...

To the best of my knowledge, I tried everything I have ever heard about, and this is the only thing that works~

Plus, it taste gooooood!

Great tip Hj

Thinking about it, I haven't had hiccups for years. Hope I'm not tempting fate.
If I am then I have a jar of peanut butter in the fridge.
Lovely on hot buttered toast but very fattening

Just dreaming of peanut butter on hot toast

Eliot,

It works, 100 mph~ Every time!

The only reason I made the original post is that I had the hiccups at the time! Gone now - I got peanut butter~

And, the only downside is that if you get hiccups realllllll often, you could add a few pounds...  :o

The very idea of peanut butter makes me feel nauseous. Nasty disgusting stuff.

I suppose it's a bit like marmite

You either love the stuff or hate it.

Me - I love peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

I think I've gained a pound just thinking about it

LOL. But I don't like the little jars from the shop - I buy the 100% peanuts, no added salt, no added sugar. Just roasted peanuts and I prefer the crunchy ones. My daughter is "into" fitness training" and as a dessert, we eat "sludge" (her name) but it's LOVELY - a spoonfull of peanut butter, 2 scoops of protein powder (basically flavoured dry milk powder) all mixed together is a bowl with enough water to give your preferred consistency. High protein dessert - yummmm

There are a few names put forward for the fear of peanut butter
such as Itsacrunchia or maybe peanutbutteraphobia or gooberphobia
or the fear of getting it stuck to the roof of your mouth  Arachibutyrophobia

BUT the one I like best for the fear of peanut butter is
I just paid Jenny Craig $3,000 to lose 79 pounds...

It made me smile

Funny stuff Elliot.

I think your also right about people either love it or hate, just like Marmite. I looourve peant butter, I cannot stand Marmite.

My favorite peanut butter is fresh off the press. A natural health food store near me when I lived in Arizona used to have canister full of peanuts, and you press the button and it mashed them up into fresh peanut butter. The same thing for almonds. Man, I love almond butter too.

Had not idea peanut butter stopped hiccups HoneyJo. Maybe its because it clogs your the back of your throat so no air can come out :-)

Eliot that is such a true statement, but (so far) I am one of the lucky ones that have never had a weight problem... I'll just keep eating the peanut butter for my hiccups and see what happens~

Darren, I know you are right, because every time I give it to my shiz-tu with her flea pill in it she coughs and spews for at least 10 minutes, as if she is trying to get it unclogged.

My son gets the hiccups all the time so I'm excited to try this. Thanks for a great tip and the smile :)
